Delivering Nationally Recognized Pediatric Care

CHOP

For more than a year, physicians and specialists from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia have been providing world-class care here in Lancaster. From the emergency department and pediatric unit at Lancaster General Hospital, to specialty practices in our community, we are building a legacy that's making a difference in the lives of local children and their families.

From the emergency department to our pediatric unit, we are building a legacy that makes a real difference in the lives of local children.

The McCullough family knows there is no such thing as a coincidence. After discovering their son had an enlarged kidney, LG Health and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia delivered the treatment he needed.

The nation’s first pediatric hospital, CHOP is consistently named among America’s best by U.S. News & World Report, a level of quality our community deserves.

This year, LG Health welcomed CHOP specialists in cardiology, gastroenterology and endocrinology who see children at LG Health's Suburban Pavilion. A neurology practice and a diabetes clinic also opened this fall, and CHOP physicians manage our neonatal intensive care unit at Women & Babies Hospital.

Through continued partnership, LG Health and CHOP will grow our high-quality pediatric services and enhance access to a broad spectrum of pediatric programs. The partnership’s commitment is to provide as many specialized services locally as possible. Working together makes quality care more convenient for patients and ensures continuity.

Lancaster General Hospital’s expansion will include a dedicated space that provides the best pediatric care in a warm, child-centered setting.

And when children need more intensive treatment, they have direct access to CHOP’s main hospital in Philadelphia and its top-ranked doctors.

After a Crohn’s diagnosis at age 4, followed by autoimmune encephalitis, Michael Welsh live an active, healthy life today thanks to the ongoing care from LG Health and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

KEEPING AN EYE ON NEWBORNS

When Steph and Chris Conroy’s daughter Ella was born with a fast-growing hemangioma (birth mark) that started closing her left eye, her pediatrician at LG Health connected the Conroys with experts at CHOP. Pediatric Specialty Care“It was a big cause of concern,” remembers Chris, who is grateful for the seamless care between the two partners. “There were no hurdles,” added Steph. Medication dispensed in Ella’s infant formula, and later laser treatments, have made her a healthy, confident young lady today.

CHOP earned second place on the 2016-17 U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll of Best Children’s Hospitals, with eight clinical programs ranked in the top three nationally. It is the only pediatric hospital in the tristate region named to the prestigious list.

“To be ranked among the top pediatric hospitals is an honor, which reflects our commitment to provide the optimum care for every child and family we serve,” said Madeline Bell, president and chief executive officer of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
